I love the Maybelline Fit Me line because it’s one of the few drugstore brands I know that has such an extensive range of shades. This past summer Maybelline came out with a collection of loose powders in several different shades as well. When I heard one of the shades might be a dupe for Laura Mercier’s powder in Medium Deep, I had to get my hands on them and try them out!
I bought three shades: 30 Medium Deep, 35 Deep, and 40 Dark. The Medium Deep powder looks more yellow than the Deep, which looks a bit more pink. I tried using both to set underneath my eyes, and found that the Medium Deep color looks brighter and a little ashy compared to the Deep powder. The Dark powder is just perfect for my skintone, either as a finishing powder or just by itself when I don’t want to wear that much makeup.
Compared to Laura Mercier’s Medium Deep powder, both Maybelline powders in Medium Deep and Deep are close. In my opinion, the Deep color is closer, being that it has the same color tone as the Laura Mercier (and it’s not yellow). In terms of consistency, the Maybelline powders are not as finely milled but they still feel really great and they don’t look cakey. For the price ($5.94 at Walmart) they are amazing quality. I’ll definitely use these for everyday and my Laura Mercier for special occasions.
Have you tried the Maybelline Fit Me loose powders? If so, what do you think?
